It was the year 1988 when the Center for Child Development and Early Care opened its doors for the first time;
a service that was born with the objective of responding to the demands of the parents of children under six years of age affected by different pathologies, which until then had to be moved to Lorca to receive the attention they needed, and that at that time began attending to 22 small.
Today, the center has grown considerably to serve more than 200 children, becoming a set of interventions directed not only to the child but also to his family and his environment.
In addition, the CDIAT is today, in front of the group of professionals that intervened independently in its origin, a team of multidisciplinary professionals with a high level of coordination which allows not only to respond to the child, his family and the different contexts, but also to address prevention at its various levels.
As the historical data shows, the CDIAT has evolved from a rehabilitative model to another psychoeducational one, in which the child's globality is contemplated and all the surrounding contexts and, above all, his family are incorporated.
It is immersed in this new reality where the Center for Child Development and Early Care celebrates its thirtieth anniversary;
an event to which last week the Mayor of guilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Infancia, Luca Hernndez, who visited the center a few days ago, wanted to add.
During the appeal for the facilities, both the mayor and the council of the area could see firsthand the "magnificent work that is carried out here thanks to the magnificent professionals at the head of it," said Moreno, who took advantage of this visit to demonstrate "The commitment of the Government Team to continue working for the improvement of services and the attention provided".
