The XXVIII Triathlon Gala of the Region of Murcia will be held next Saturday, November 24, in Águilas.

The president of the FTRM, Diego Calvo Valera, has presented the gala, along with the mayor of Águilas, Mª Carmen Moreno, and the Councilor for Sports, Cristóbal Casado.

This celebration, organized every year by the FTRM, rewards all the triathletes of the Region of Murcia who have obtained a trophy during the whole year 2018.

Diego Calvo stressed that "Águilas is a benchmark for national and international triathlon," he also explained that "the triathletes of the Region of Murcia have won 84 trophies of national championships and 16 international." The Triathlon Gala of the Region of Murcia will have the assistance of more than 300 triathletes, in addition to having the representation of authorities of the Region of Murcia as the general director of Sports and several deputies, will also have the presence of the technical director of the ITU, Enrique Quesada, who will be prize.

The Mayor of Águilas, Mª Carmen Moreno, thanked the decision made by the FTRM to hold the Triathlon Gala in Águilas and noted that "it is a pride to be celebrated in Águilas because we are an important and significant point of triathlon celebrations National and international".

The Councilor for Sports, Cristóbal Casado, thanked the award for "Best Organizer" obtained by the PDM in 2017 and said that "from the PDM we will continue working to grow and continue to bring to Águilas the best triathlons in Spain".
