The City of Águilas, through the Department of the Environment, called on all citizens to collaborate in the Community Action of the cleaning of plastic waste on the beaches of the Marina de Cope.
It was a day in which around 200 volunteers carried out a collection of plastic waste, especially microplastics.
The objective was, in addition to collecting microplastics from the coast, close to 400 kilos, to raise awareness about the damage caused by this type of waste in the environment, encouraging people not to use plastic in our daily lives.
One way to motivate this was to provide volunteers with water in botijos, instead of using bottles.
