The Águilas City Council has launched two Local Public Employment Programs, subsidized by the SEF and co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Youth Employment Operative Program, plus an important municipal contribution, which have made it possible to hire ten young beneficiaries of the National Juvenile Guarantee System, which were unemployed.
The first of the programs, called "Strengthening the Economic Development and Training Service of the City of Águilas, Phase 2" is enabling, among other things, free computer courses for citizens, as well as development, in the centers educational, didactic talks about oceanic posidonia and the importance that this has for the natural and marine environment of Águilas, affecting, in addition to the detrimental that plastics are for our Mediterranean Sea.
With regard to the second of these programs, "Conditioning and improvement of the Natural Trails Network, its environment and others", the participants are developing cleaning tasks, waste collection and adaptation of urban and peri-urban sections.
The Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, present, together with the local development councilor, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, and the Economic-Financial Management technician of Águilas City Council, Diego Mª Martínez, in the act of signing the contract of the participants in These programs stressed that "what is pursued with this type of action is to improve the employability of its participants, while developing actions of general interest."
