The edile of Education, Cristóbal Casado, will raise to the Ordinary Plenary of the month of February a motion urging the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Region of Murcia to the immediate removal of asbestos from the roofs of schools in the town.
On this matter, the mayor of Education has said that "it is the Ministry that has the powers to remove this construction material that, according to various studies, can pose a respiratory risk to people exposed to it."
Married also recalled that "during the year 2017, the Ministry requested a detailed list of schools and institutes in the town with this material." On the same day of the request, the City Council technical services began to work on the preparation of a report that, immediately, was sent to the Ministry, despite this, and almost two years later, we have not had any response from the Ministry. "
