and the coordinator of the energy service, Ginés Giménez, made a visit to different points of the town in order to check the changes carried out.
During the tour, the first mayor pointed out the importance of an action that has allowed that in Águilas energy consumption is reduced by 78%, avoiding the emission of 3,144.39 tons of CO2 per year, in addition to a reduction of 67% in the annual billing for consumption ".
The new contract "Supply and energy service of the city and maintenance of public lighting", awarded to Ferrovial Services and which came into force on September 1, has also made it possible to adapt to the regulations of the 116 centers of controls.
In addition, it is currently proceeding to the installation of a remote management system in the facilities and public assets from which measurements of energy consumption in real time will be obtained, it will be possible to manage the switching on and off of the luminaire circuits of each panel and, also, to know the status of the luminaires, as well as the state of the network and the hours of operation.
Moreno finalized his intervention, emphasizing the benefits that a more efficient management provides for the city.
"This new contract has meant a very important environmental benefit for Águilas and, fundamentally, modernization in the entire electrical system, Águilas was an obsolete municipality in this sense, with many mercury lights that were an important environmental attack, with command centers in deplorable conditions that posed a real danger to citizen security and, ultimately, with an old-fashioned electrical system and in need of change and that is what we have done ".
