There are many actions that the City of Águilas, aware of the problem of plastic waste and the massive entry of them into our oceans, has been launched, through the Department of Environment, in our municipality.
The Escalpito project, aimed at working with environmental education in educational centers, is one of the main bets currently being developed by the City Council in this area.
However, the need for action is urgent and for that reason the local consistory has taken the decision to replace progressively in all its dependencies plastic cups, which until now were distributed in the water dispensers, by 100% glasses biodegradable, highly resistant to both cold and hot liquids, which do not melt or deform.
A simple gesture that seeks to reduce plastic waste and at the same time raise awareness about the problems of these in our seas.
