More than 200,000 people gathered last Saturday in Águilas to live one of the most anticipated and multitudinous events of the festive calendar: the traditional Battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, the spectacular arrival of the Musa to the Plaza de España and the proclamation of actor lumbrerense Ginés García Millán.
As usual, the acts began in the Plenary Hall of the City of Águilas, where they were delivered, in the presence of the mayor of the town, Mari Carmen Moreno;
and the president of the Peñas Federation, José Alonso, the golden eagles to José Antonio Meca, Grand Master of the Cuerva;
Regional Wave, entity on which this year the Gold Conch has relapsed;
as well as Ginés García Millán, preacher of the Carnival.
Minutes later the popular Glorieta de Águilas became the stage for the Battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, performed this year masterfully by Ángel Juárez and Mariola López.
After the shell war, the components of the Official Ballet of the Carnival occupied the stage in anticipation of the spectacular appearance on the balcony of the Town Hall of Cristina Román, Muse of the Carnival and inspiration of all the carnival.
After his emotional proclamation Eagles became a real madness to receive the proclaimer of the Festival of International Tourist Interest.
Ginés García Millán, with an elegant tail coat, managed to win the applause of all the attendees with a proclamation full of references to Águilas.
