The students of the institutes of the locality have participated in a cycle of talks that, under the title "Climate change.
How to adapt our cities ", aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of dealing with climate change.
The activity, framed within the European project Life Adaptate, has also served to publicize the actions that are starting from Águilas.
The Life Adaptate Program includes 6 pilot actions to adapt to climate change, one of which is carried out in Águilas with the creation of a green zone, whose irrigation will be carried out with purified water, taking place the impulsion and distribution of the same by means of energy photovoltaic
It also includes the commitment of the participating municipalities to carry out the measures of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, specifically the preparation and execution of a Plan of Action for Climate and Sustainable Energy (PACES) that addresses both the mitigation such as climate adaptation before 2030.
The main objective of Life Adaptate is to contribute to the improvement of policies and legislation related to mitigation and adaptation to climate change in the European Union.
In particular, the process of designing and implementing local adaptation policies and designing specific actions in each municipality, addressing the challenges that arise in each municipality.
