The request of the aquiline irrigators to benefit from part of the 11 hm3 / year of desalinated water from the Águilas Guadalentín desalination plant after the expansion of the same has been successfully resolved by the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, a body dependent on the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
A news that has been valued as "very positive" by the mayor of Águilas and general secretary of the aquiline socialists, Mari Carmen Moreno, who has shown her satisfaction with the fact that "the request of the Community of Irrigators of Eagles has been attended, especially if we take into account that there were many neighboring communities that also requested it. "
In this sense, Moreno recalled that "from the first moment the City Council has gone hand in hand with the Community of Irrigators in their request for extension of the concession, being present at the meetings held in the Hydrographic Confederation and giving our full support to a request that we considered was necessary for our municipality. "
This extension represents an increase of 1.5 hm3 / year, which is added to the 15 of the previous concession, and ensures a water stability for Águilas, guaranteeing the water supply for our irrigation.
