Izquierda Unida-Verdes launches its electoral pre-campaign in Águilas with the slogan "The left has to talk".
From the organization point out that "against a social context marked by job insecurity, unemployment, sexist violence or the rise of fascism, the left has much to say and contribute to overcome this difficult situation."
In October they elected Isabel María Torrente as their candidate for mayor.
Torrente began his political career as a councilor at City Hall in 2012 and since 2015, after the government agreement with the PSOE, is at the head of the councils of Equality, Environment and Consumption.
"We want to make a campaign in positive and constructive, putting in value all that we have advanced in these four years and proposing to public debate what we want to do in the following to continue transforming our people."
IU-Greens will attend under its own brand in the municipal elections of Águilas.
At regional level, it will do so in a confluence with Anticapitalists of the Region of Murcia and independent social activists in the Change Region of Murcia coalition, whose head of list is the IU-Greens regional co-coordinator, José Luis Álvarez Castellanos.
