With a powerful machine, as if it were a giant drill or a corkscrew of great power, the City of Águilas and the concessionaire of the park and garden service STV Gestión, starts a campaign to dismantle old trunks in Águilas.
The mayor of Service Provider Companies, Isabel Fernandez, recalls that "this technique has a clear utility: to recover lost spaces on sidewalks and gardens by old logs, without damaging the areas surrounding these old specimens."
In particular, the system makes numerous holes in that old stump and then with a shovel the old trunk is extracted.
"In most cases what is done is to replant a new copy in that hole or give more space to the sidewalk where it was" explains Isabel Fernández.
A task that will be carried out in more than a hundred copies.
For this a team of six people will carry out some works that will last in time until next May.
Fernandez emphasizes that the policy of the town hall, specifically its council, is to recover all trees and specimens that, due to illness or different circumstances, have been damaged or eliminated.
