The tourism sector in Águilas will act as a lever for economic growth and job creation in the municipality.
This has been highlighted today by the candidate of the Popular Party of Eagles to the mayor, Eva Reverte, in the meeting she has held, together with the candidate for the Congress of Deputies, Isabel Borrego, with businessmen and agents from the aquiline tourism sector.
Tourism is one of the axes of economic boost in Águilas and to strengthen the sector "it is imperative that we put all our efforts into getting the approval of the General Plan of Águilas to allow the provision of necessary infrastructures in order to generate a more attractive offer and of quality ", the candidate has indicated.
The popular one has influenced that "if it is possible to expand this offer, all the productive sectors of Águilas will benefit, so that small local companies will be strengthened and this will generate employment, since there is currently a higher unemployment rate. to 13% and Águilas has the potential to reach a figure of unemployment far below the current one ".
The commitment of López Miras with Águilas, in the words of Reverte, "has been reflected recently with the establishment of a connection with the airport, so that tourists who land in the Region will have the opportunity to reach Águilas with another means of alternative and economic transportation ".
During the meeting that has had a great reception, Reverte said that "you can only implement a good management policy if you work hand in hand with the people who make Águilas a reference holiday destination, its businessmen".
In this regard, he thanked the entrepreneurs and agents of the tourism sector for their participation in this working meeting with the former Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Borrego, who knows perfectly the potential of Águilas, since during her previous stage in the Ministry got the International Tourist Interest of the Eagles Carnival.
Borrego explained that the enormous tourist potential of the Region of Murcia will be promoted with a diversified offer to reach 6 million visitors.
He also took advantage of the meeting to explain some of the proposals of the program led by Pablo Casado in tourism, such as a technological platform to facilitate access and dissemination of tourism in order to increase their competitiveness and income generation in destinations, such as Águilas.
Also, the candidate for the lower house has stressed that the PP defends the application of reduced VAT to all activities related to the tourism sector, since "employers demand support and effective measures that help them to be more competitive."
