The City of Águilas and Hidrogea have renewed the agreement for the application of the Social Water Bonus, an initiative launched two years ago, which aims to help families in a situation of economic precariousness to face the payment of the supply of water. water and sewage.
During the signing of the agreement, carried out by the mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the general director of Hidrogea, Inmaculada Serrano, the data referring to the year 2,018 have been released.
Thus, as highlighted by Moreno, in 2018 a total of 76 families could benefit more than in 2017. "Specifically 280 users have been those who in 2018 benefited from this aid, compared to 204 in 2017," they said.
This Social Bonus has an endowment of 60,000 euros.
It should be noted that the Social Services of the City Council will manage the requests for assistance, contrasting and valuing the information of the applicants and approving, if necessary, according to the established criteria, the help for the payment of water and sewer bills.
Once the request is resolved, Social Services will send Hidrogea the list of approved applications to proceed to execute the resolution.
Citizens in situation of economic precariousness residing in Águilas with an individual water supply contract with Hidrogea will be eligible for this aid.
The aid will only be applicable in those contracts in which the service is provided in the dwelling that constitutes the habitual residence.
