The burning of waste is a known threat to the health of people and the environment, being one of the conflicts that the City of Águilas has had to face during the legislature that we now conclude.
Within the propositional approach that they have wanted to give to their electoral campaign, in Izquierda Unida-Verdes de Águilas they throw to the public opinion this problem, "proposing a solution that could solve it".
The coalition of the left proposes the development of the Agroa project as an alternative to agricultural burning.
"This program consists in the valuation of this type of waste transforming it into compost or vermicompost", declares its candidate to the Mayor's Office and current Councilor for the Environment, Isabel María Torrente.
The compost or compost is a product obtained from different materials of organic origin that is used as background fertilizer and as a substitute for chemical fertilizers.
"In this way the harmful and annoying burning would be avoided, it would be easier for the farmers to manage this type of waste with the consequent savings for the sector and the rest of the population would benefit," concludes Torrente.
Proposals like this are those that IU-Greens will explain throughout the electoral period with their campaign strategy "house by house", with which they intend to "bring our solutions to the citizens to improve Águilas".
