The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, Mario Urrea, presided yesterday, along with the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, the act of delivery of the concession of 1.5 cubic hectometres (hm3) of water, coming from the desalination plant Eagles, intended for the Community of Irrigators;
an amount that adds to the 15 of the previous concession and ensures a water stability for the municipality.
After the ceremony, Moreno described as "very positive the fact that the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura and more specifically its president has responded to the request of the Irrigation Community of Águilas for the extension of the water concession, especially if we take into account that there were many neighboring communities that also requested it. "
In this sense, Moreno recalled that "from the first moment the City Council has gone hand in hand with the Community of Irrigators in their request for extension of the concession, being present at the meetings held in the Hydrographic Confederation and giving our full support to a request that we considered was necessary for our municipality. "
Prior to this meeting, Urrea informed the first aquiline mayor, in the course of a working meeting held at the City Council, that the river basin body will begin work on the preparation of the ravines of Matalentisco, Cañarete, Las Snakes and the Straits.
