"Book of reading with the mouths" is the innovative reading method developed by Irene Rejón Santiago, a teacher of Hearing and Language who performs her teaching work in Águilas.
A method that has been reflected in the edition of three books;
one of them dedicated to lowercase letters, one second for capital letters and a third, "Reading first based on different mouth positions", for English speakers who learn to read and pronounce Spanish.
"Thanks to various social, cultural, health and educational institutions, it is being tested and disseminated throughout Spain, the US and Latin America, and the methodology consists in placing the shape of the mouth underneath each consonant. Currently, it is being tested with students who begin reading, ASD, TEL, Down Syndrome, psychic disability, dyslexia, literacy and foreigners who learn Spanish, "said Rejón.
Also, the author of "Reading Book with the mouths" thanked the various institutions and agencies in the town that are collaborating with the dissemination of this innovative method, including: the Women's Center of the City of Águilas, Occupational Center Urci, Aguilas Down, CEIP Joaquín Tendero and CEIP Our Lady of Sorrows, Association Alzheimer, ANIMA Speech Therapy and Psychopedagogy, Child Development Center and early care of Águilas and Asteamur.
The books are on sale at exhibitors 70 and 71 of the bookstore El Dragón Lector, at the 78th Madrid Book Fair, and at the Aguilenian bookstores of Manuel Gris, Piperán and Block.
