On June 21, workers and users of the Águilas Mental Health Association (Afemac), went to the Thuillier theater in Caravaca to participate in the IV edition of "FESTIVARTE" an event organized by our partner association of the Northwest (Afemnor) and that under the motto "a look at art from the heart", bets for the use and enjoyment of art in all its manifestations as a form of normalization and social inclusion for people with some type of disability.
Music, dance, theater and corporal expression were the protagonists of the different actions carried out by members of mental health associations in the region, as well as guest associations that work with people with intellectual disabilities (Apcom), or "Betania ", association for the prevention, rehabilitation and reintegration of people with addictions.
The act began with the welcome on the part of the mayor of Caravaca, Mr. José Francisco García and the vice president of the Mental Health Federation of the Region of Murcia, Mrs. Pilar Morales, who highlighted the importance of art in all its manifestations as a channel of expression of emotions and the need to carry out this type of events that favor, through creativity, the inclusion of people with mental health problems
After the awards ceremony, a convivial meal was held in the "Festival Museum" of the town where the meat cake winner of the regional contest in this culinary specialty could be tasted.
From the Mental Health Association of Águilas (Afemac) we thank the hosts for their warm welcome, hoping to return to participate in future editions.
