[Summertime programming of Milana Bonita.
Remembering Paco Rabal]
The Milana Bonita Association has programmed for the current summer season the activities that, taking advantage of the increase in population that Águilas registers during this stage, are called to fulfill the objective of keeping alive the memory of the international and unrepeatable Paco Rabal.
As far as film screenings are concerned, the three scheduled films, played by Paco Rabal and Fernando Rey, make up a series dedicated to the Galician actor on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his death, and for which, in addition, he has already been awarded as "Rabaliano 2018" posthumously.
Two of the feature films will be integrated in the "XVI Street Film Days".
The first one, The Desert of the Tartars (co-production Italo-Franco-German directed by Valerio Zurlini in 1976), will be on Saturday July 20, at ten o'clock at night, in Plaza Fernando Rey;
and the second, Aventuras del Marqués de Bradomín, also known as Sonatas, and in which Rabal and Rey were masterfully directed by Juan Antonio Bardem, in 1969, will be screened at the Auditorium concourse on Thursday, August 22, also at the 10 pm.
The screening of the third film of this cycle, at the House of Culture on Friday, August 23, at 9 pm, will be Viridiana, a jewel of the seventh art performed by Paco Rabal and Fernando Rey under the direction of Luis Buñuel in 1961, and awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes International Festival.
In addition to the cinematographic aspect, it is also scheduled, for Wednesday, August 21, at the Casa de la Cultura, at 9 o'clock at night, the Serenade to Paco Rabal, which on this occasion will be a compendium of traditional dances and music and rooted in the show "Danzas de mar de almendros", and in which its members will also have the collaboration of several members of the Cuadrilla de la Cuesta de Gos.
