The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructures is carrying out actions to clean margins and ditches in 65 kilometers of the Regional Road Network that runs through the municipality of Águilas to eliminate the presence of weeds and weeds that hinder the visibility and correct longitudinal drainage of the tracks.
The general director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, explained that the works, which are part of the conservation work of regional roads, are being carried out on four roads and will end next week.
"The objective of this cleanup is to achieve an improvement in drainage and visibility of the roads so that they are in optimal conditions for the weeks of greatest influx of tourists on the coast, and thus increase the road safety of our regional network", explained the director.
Fernández Lladó recalled that an important action programmed in this campaign is the one that takes place on the RM-11 highway, which connects Lorca with Águilas.
He indicated that we are proceeding to mow the weeds and weeds on the sides of the road, in the median and the links of the entire highway, even in those singular sections of service roads that have more traffic.
Cleaning and mowing will also be carried out on the regional road linking Calarreona and the border with the city of Almería (RM-333) and on the roads that connect with Calabardina (RM-D14 and RM-D15).
The regional investment in these actions reaches 60,000 euros.
