Pescados con Arte II, from the Asociación Columbares, returns to the coast of Águilas this summer with an activity that tastes of the sea on July 25.
It is a family day to know the marine and coastal biodiversity and the fishing heritage of Águilas, which will start with a walk through the fishing port and the fish market where the participants will know the fishing history of the town and witness the auction on the spot of fish.
They will also have the opportunity to discover the biological richness of this stretch of coast.
After this immersion in the fishing culture, the assistants will move to the El rey de Abastos bar, located in the Águilas food square, to participate in an interactive gastronomic workshop in which they will learn to elaborate a simple recipe with sustainable local fish .

Meeting point: parking of the Puerto de Águilas (Explanada del Muelle Street, 10, 30880 Águilas, Murcia).
Activity hours: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Minimum age of participation: 10 years.
This is a free activity co-financed by the FEMP, but requires prior registration (registration deadline: July 23) through the form available on the Columbares Association website.
The activity has the collaboration of the Águilas City Council, the Fishermen's Association of Águilas and the El rey de Abastos bar.
Pescados con Arte II is an initiative of the Asociación Columbares and the Association of Artisanal Fishermen of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park (PESCARTES) to inform the public of the social, environmental, cultural and gastronomic value of the fishery captured from artisanal form in the Murcian-Almerian coast and promote the consumption of sustainable fishing products.
The project has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, through the High Water Program, co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, in collaboration with the University of Murcia, the Amureco Association and Fornet.
Pescados con Arte II contributes to achieving the objectives of the LIFE IP INTEMARES project "Integrated, innovative and participatory management of the Natura 2000 Network in the Spanish marine environment".
