The mayor of Culture, Maido Simó, accompanied by Juan Hernández, a student of esparto, presented yesterday at a press conference the events planned for the celebration of the Day of Esparto that this year will be held on Sunday 4 and will take place in the Plaza de Spain.

The day will begin at 7:00 pm with exhibitions of esparteros and animation.

At 20 hours, it will begin with an act of homage to the Spartan artisans after which a meeting of Mussonas dressed in esparto suits will take place.

Similarly, from day 2, the Plaza de España will host the exhibition of information panels on the History and Tradition of Esparto in Águilas.
