One more year, the Plaza de España became the scene of the events scheduled by the Department of Culture on the occasion of Esparto Day.
The many people who came to the roundabout were able to enjoy the spectacle of watching the spinning craftsmen Bernardo Asensio, Pedro Román and Bartolomé Román live, who made an exhibition of the work with the traditional wheel.
I also show a good part of the look at the exhibition of Carnival Mussonas costumes, made mostly with esparto.
The day concluded with the recognition and tribute to the people linked to esparto to whom the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, the mayor of Culture, Maido Simó, and the coordinator of the events, Juan Hernández, delivered recognition plates.
Thus Pepe Roblo were recognized and, posthumously, José Piñero.
There was also time to recognize the recently named honorary artisans by the Autonomous Community: Pedro Quiñonero and Dominique Josseline.
