The Department of Equality of the City Council of Águilas will launch a Violet Point in the XIV show of the Summer Carnival 2019, continuing with the initiative already carried out in the last Winter Carnival.
From the Department of Women and the Center for Women of Eagles this Violet Point has been organized for the information, awareness and prevention of any possible sexual assault, under the slogan "For Carnivals without sexist aggressions".
For the development of this device, close coordination is maintained with the Civil Guard.
In this regard, a coordination meeting took place yesterday with the institutions and volunteers that wish to collaborate, among which is the Severo Montalvo Scout Group and the Lorca Women's Association.
The Violet Point will be located next to La Caixa of the Paseo de las Delicias de Águilas, a strategic point, since it is located in the middle of the route, being the most visible and accessible place for the greatest number of people.
With the aim of intensifying awareness, it will be available from 7.30 pm, continuing until the end of the parade and available to anyone who wants information or needs help.
Informative brochures will be provided on the purposes of the Violet Point, informing, in addition, on the call for the September 20 demonstration "Violet Night", which will take place at the City Hall's door as a repulse to the sexist aggressions committed especially this summer 2019.
