The sender and receiver of the package has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health (drug trafficking)

The arrested man sent himself the packages from Granada by a transport company and used fictitious names

The package contained 4,300 grams of marijuana buds

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the services established to prevent and prosecute drug trafficking, has developed the 'Pax' operation, which has culminated in the seizure of more than four kilos of marijuana buds in Águilas and the detention of a local neighbor as the alleged perpetrator of drug trafficking crime.

The proceedings began last August, when the Civil Guard was alerted to a postal delivery that could be linked to drug trafficking, so the investigation was initiated aimed at verifying the facts and, where appropriate, clarifying them.

The first steps of the operation allowed the civil guards, specialized in Judicial Police, to verify that the two large-volume packages contained narcotic substances, in this case marijuana, so the investigation was continued to identify and locate the authors of criminal activity.

Shortly after and after apprehending the packages with the drug, the agents identified a neighbor of Águilas as allegedly responsible for both the shipment of the drug, in this case made from Granada, and the reception of it.

Once the case was judicialized and prior judicial authorization, the controlled delivery of the packages containing the drug was carried out and the suspect was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health (drug trafficking).

During the controlled delivery it was found that the now arrested man allegedly moved to Granada to acquire the drug and formalize the shipment himself to Águilas.

For this, he consigned fictitious names both in the sender and in the recipient, in order to avoid being related to the facts.

After the opening of the packages, their preliminary analysis and weighing, the civil guards have seized 4,300 grams of marijuana arranged in buds.

The Spanish detainee, 51, a neighbor of Águilas and with a history of similar crimes, the seized drug, the seized effects and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca (Murcia).
