Coinciding with the festival of San Miguel, the residence of Railroad Pensioners of Águilas organized a playful day attended by, among others, the mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno and the mayor of the Third Age, Encarna Navarro, who attended the Mass in honor to the patron of the center.
The events related to this "Resident Day" also included an exhibition of crafts made by the Center's own members and in the afternoon the traditional dance.
The Association of Residences of Railway Pensioners was created in Madrid, in 1931, being in April 1970 when the center of Águilas was inaugurated which, together with that of San Juan (Alicante), are the only ones in the whole country belonging to this collective.
The residence now welcomes all types of public, railway or not, depending on the availability of places and having the only requirement to become a member of the Center.
