The mayor of Social Services, María Dolores García, has held a meeting with the Association of Mental Health Águilas (Afemac) which was attended, among others, by the president of the association, Pilar Morales.

During the meeting, the councilor was able to visit the new facilities of this association, as well as address issues of interest to its users and learn first-hand the needs and projects of Afemac.

After the meeting, García wanted to highlight "the magnificent work that is carried out from this association, paying special attention to the programs of labor insertion that are carried out and that are fundamental for the normalization of people suffering from some type of disease mental".

The mayor has also referred to the Discover Program;

an initiative that Afemac has been developing in the last five years in secondary education centers in the town and that is aimed at prevention and awareness in mental health issues.

Finally, the councilor of the area has transmitted to Afemac "the predisposition of the City Council to continue working closely with an association that plays a fundamental role in our municipality."
