Yesterday the appointment of the mayors of the districts of Calabardina, La Marina de Cope, Los Arejos and Tébar was announced, with said responsibility falling on Félix Gallego Gallego, José Giménez Clemente, Pedro Gallego Gallego and Mariana Pérez Gallego, respectively.
However, from the Aguileño nucleus of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) they consider the method used for their designation "undemocratic."
"We are facing a full-fledged blow, since the pedáneos have been directly elected by the municipal government."
In some statements that have been made to the press, the communist group affirms "not to understand" why "this very democratic practice continues to persist in our Town Hall", because "in other municipalities it is the neighbors themselves and the neighbors of the districts who choose to their representatives. "
In the PCE they are committed to "holding elections in the districts to elect mayors."
In this sense, they require the local government "to work so that democracy reaches all corners of our municipality and all institutional positions are elected by citizenship suffrage."
