The Popular Municipal Group has requested the City Council to use the existing lighting in La Pava de la Balsa and the Hornillo Bridge to illuminate with the colors of the flag of Spain this October 12.

"Taking advantage that we have long placed lighting in these two public spaces, we have asked the Consistory to use the facility to illuminate these places on the 12th with the colors of the flag of Spain in commemoration of our National Holiday," he said. PP spokeswoman at the City Council, Eva Reverte.

"This initiative would also be an attraction for the city of Águilas, since, being a holiday, the town welcomes more people and would be an attraction for tourists and neighbors," said Reverte who also encouraged the neighbors to "celebrate the shared feeling by decorating their balconies with the flag of Spain".
