The "Tecnonando" project in memory of Fernando Martínez is a reality at the Carlos V school (11/10/2019)

The family of Fernando Martínez Rubio, father of two students of our Center and one of the victims of the German plane tragically damaged in the Alps, has relied on the Carlos V College to allocate the economic funds reserved for projects of interest in memory of the victims of that tragedy.

In this way, the Carlos V School starts up the Tecnonando project in memory of Fernando that equips the classrooms with the latest technological innovations and new active methodologies applied to the education of students at all stages of the Center.

In a public event held at the Center, the STEAM Classroom is inaugurated in memory of the family Fernando Martínez Rubio, which gives its name to the Tecnonando educational project.

The cooperative members welcomed the relatives, students, parents, mothers and the authorities headed by the mayor of Águilas, the mayor of Education, the representatives of the Popular Party and Citizens of the Aguileño City Council.

Next, a tour of the Infant and Primary classrooms has been carried out, where the educational utility for the center has been seen through the Technonando technological corners and their corresponding innovative equipment.

The most emotional moment of the event took place when the relatives of Fernando Martínez proceeded to discover the identification plate of the STEAM Classroom that opens in his memory, being an innovative, different place and a space that breaks with the traditional idea of impacting class.

Mari Carmen Moreno, wife of Fernando Martínez, recalls that "at the beginning it was a slightly crazy idea, but getting it has been gratifying for the important technological advance for our educational community and when it comes to the future of our children. When it was already approved I told my children Marta and José Antonio. I told them that in addition to the Cabo Cope Trail with the name of Daddy, Mama had also created a project for the school, that same afternoon we chose the name of Tecnonando, they were very happy with thousands of questions and at the same time they were incredibly excited and excited. Fernando has been a very special person for his family and friends, we miss him very much, there is no day we do not name him, he has always lent himself to help, so , today I feel proud of everything I have achieved in his name and I am sure he would have done the same.

Thanks to all the people I have come to involve in both projects, thanks for the unconditional support to the work teams, thank you.

Our children deserve that educational teaching take the course, as life is progressing and I hope the Center enjoys it with all the love and affection we have given it.

Because from heaven I know you see us, don't stop leading us.

We love you, daddy. "

Schools around the world are already betting on innovation and try to increase students' interest in science and technology;

STEAM strategies (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) are already being introduced into their agendas.

The STEAM concept encompasses a new teaching-learning vision, both for students and teachers, with the main objective of ending a compartmentalized teaching system, where knowledge is understood as an interrelated block that can and should be put into practice in real life.

On the other hand, within the subject of Applied Knowledge and the rest of the areas linked to this classroom, as well as through the use of the ABP (Project Learning) methodology, we intend for students to face “real†problems where the knowledge and creativity will be the key to solving these problems.

STEAM strategies help students develop a series of skills related to collaboration, communication, research, problem solving, creativity and critical thinking;

key elements for our students to achieve work success in their adult life, opening the door to the discovery of new interests that, in addition, are related to sectors that offer a great reception in the current labor market.

The design, 3D printing, robotics and the virtual environment of video games, are a complement that helps to know and use a new language and, at the same time, allows the deepening of content from other areas such as Mathematics, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences in Primary, as well as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Biology Technology and Plastic and Visual Education in Secondary.

To this we must add that the vehicular language of the area of Applied Knowledge (Primary) and Technology (Secondary) is English.

So, directly and indirectly, we are influencing the development of a second language that, in addition, will allow our students to get used to the language that is generally used in the scientific-technological field worldwide today.

This project allows us to have Tecnonando corners equipped with tablets and Chromebooks.

Likewise, the Smart Board classrooms are provided that facilitate classroom learning and allow the application of teaching methodologies adapted to current training challenges.

Also, through the equipment and commissioning of the STEAM Classroom "Fernando Martínez Rubio", students can work with chromes, reading, 3D printing, robot programming and presentations of projects created by the students themselves.

From our Cooperativa de Enseñanza we want to transfer to Fernando's family our deepest and most sincere gratitude for trusting us and for a project that benefits the entire educational community of Carlos V.
