The Socialist mayor of Education, Francis Gallego, has shown his satisfaction for the unanimous approval of the motion presented by the PSOE in which the Ministry of Education is urged to increase the amount of the checkbook, going from the current 170 euros to 181 euros, as well as the change in the management system, which notably increases the bureaucratic tasks of the management teams, assuming the process of entering the checkbook directly to the parents' own counseling;
measures that, among other things, will make it possible to make the real free textbooks compatible with the fair demands of local and regional booksellers.
In this sense, the mayor of Education of the City of Águilas has assured that "after hearing the demands of both local booksellers and regional booksellers, who have estimated that it will be between 25% and 50% of Murcia booksellers who they could renounce to exchange chequelibro in their bookstores due to the reduced margin of the benefit and to the cumbersome of the procedure of the same, we have considered that not only a local complaint, but regional and deserving of our support ".
