Last weekend the Annual Gala of the Eagles Diabetics Association (ADIA) was held;
an event that brought together more than a hundred attendees among which was the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno.
During the course of the event, the president of the association, Yolanda Gallego, presented the "golden syringes", an award with which ADIA recognizes the work of people and institutions that have collaborated with the association.
On this occasion the distinctions went to the hands of the City Council of Águilas and Orbitalia.
Both winners received this distinction for their collaboration in the implementation of inclusive travel;
an initiative that enables children with diabetes to enjoy school or leisure excursions on equal terms to those of other schoolchildren.
These are, specifically, trips in which schoolchildren with diabetes are accompanied by a nurse.
During the act the work of the partner Misericordia Rodríguez was also recognized.
