Landáburu: "The Aguileño PSOE refuses to know its position on concerted education, thus knocking down the possibility of discussing a motion submitted by urgent procedure, before the statements of the acting minister, Isabel Celaá"
The Popular Municipal Group in the City of Águilas presented a motion last Monday, by urgent procedure, to urge the national government to defend the educational freedoms enshrined in the Constitution, and that was scheduled to be discussed yesterday in the ordinary plenary of the month of November.
The popular councilor, Antonio Landáburu, has shown his discomfort before this refusal of the government of Mari Carmen Moreno, by preventing the motion from being debated last night “it is a matter that matters to us a lot, because there are more than 5,000 students who are studying in the two centers with which we count in the locality â€.
"All this is nothing more than a sample of the arrogance and the little mood of the Aguilas PSOE"
Landáburu has labeled "unfortunate" the fact of not wanting to even approve such an urgent procedure "if we had done so we would have known the real position of the Aguileño socialists, but apparently they must be in line with their bosses in Madrid, with the Mr. Sánchez and have preferred not to let us speak, so that we don't have to vote against the proposal. â€
Isabel Celaá, acting minister of Education and Vocational Training, on November 14 at the inauguration of the XV Catholic Schools Congress argued that “in no way can it be said that the right of fathers and mothers to choose a religious education or to choose an educational center they could be part of the freedom of education. â€
This issue has generated a great social alarm because it questions that parents can choose the education of their children something that materializes when families choose an educational center and not another.
“However, this motion has already been registered again in the City Council of Águilas, to debate in the next ordinary Plenary, already in January and then we will know the real position of the PSOE Government team, and if they support or not the free choice of center by families â€, concluded Landábauru.
MOTION TO URGE THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT TO DEFEND THE EDUCATIONAL FREEDOMS CONSECRATED IN THE CONSTITUTION
Antonio Landáburu Clares, councilor of the Popular Municipal Group in the City of Águilas presents the following MOTION to INSTALL THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT TO DEFEND THE EDUCATIONAL FREEDOMS CONSECRATED IN THE CONSTITUTION before the ordinary FULL of November.
The Spanish Constitution of 1978 placed Art 27º, “Everyone has the right to education.
Freedom of education is recognized. â€In its title First“ On fundamental rights and duties â€.
It was not a casual decision, but responded to the will of the constituents so that both rights were on a level of equality and fundamental.
Throughout the forty years of validity of the Constitution, the different educational reforms have defended with greater or lesser passion both rights, developed and reaffirmed also by the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court.
However, the last bill of the socialist party (the so-called LOMLOE) questions the first great educational pact of the Transition when trying to limit the educational freedoms recognized in the Constitution.
In addition, the statements of the Socialist Minister in functions of Education and Vocational Training, Isabel Celaá, made on November 14 of the present at the inauguration of the XV Catholic Schools Congress where he argued “in no way can it be said that the right of parents and mothers to choose a religious education or to choose an educational center could be part of the freedom of education â€has generated a great social alarm because it questions that parents can choose the education of their children something that materializes when families choose a educational center and no other.
For all the above, the undersigned councilor submits the following proposal to the plenary:
MOTION
1. To urge the Government of Spain to guarantee the free choice of educational center.
2. That the City of Águilas requires Minister Celaá to retract the statements made on the 14th in the Catholic Schools Congress.
3. Guarantee the existence and gratuitousness of the special education centers both in the public and private-concerted networks as guarantors of the freedom of choice of families.
4. Respect and comply with Art 27º3 of the Constitution that obliges public authorities to guarantee the right that assists parents so that their children receive religious and moral training that is in accordance with their own convictions.
5. To transfer this agreement to the Government of Spain so that, through the fulfillment of all the points of this proposal, it defends and guarantees the educational freedoms enshrined in the Spanish Constitution, as well as to the centers of concerted education of Águilas (College María Inmaculada and Colegio Carlos V), UCOMUR, CONCAPA AND UCOERM.
