Since last November 26, the workers of the Agrícola Aguileña (AGRASA) company seconded an indefinite strike in defense of their labor rights where the company committee has denounced delays in the payment of payrolls, having workers who have not received their full salary since October and no worker has charged the month of November.
On November 28, the management of AGRASA announced the collective dismissal of a total of four hundred and eighty-one workers, which will mean that hundreds of families in Águilas are left without livelihoods.
The PCE, the Communist Youth and IU-Greens have shown their solidarity with the striking workers, to whom they show "total support".
On December 10, the IU-Verdes regional coordinator, José Luis Álvarez Castellanos, and the general secretary of the PCE in the Region of Murcia, José Ángel Durán, visited the company's facilities in Águilas.
"This afternoon we have moved to Águilas to talk with the workers and union delegates of AGRASA with the intention of knowing from my first hand what the reality of this labor conflict is," says Álvarez Castellanos.
"Hundreds of families are now in a dramatic situation," says Duran, who calls "for the solidarity of the entire Region of Murcia, because AGRASA is committing a great injustice that will be a blow to the economy of the town of Águilas as a whole ".
Thus, since the PCE, the JC and IU-Verdes, call to participate in the demonstration called by the AGRASA Company Committees for next Friday, December 20.
