More than a thousand people have already visited the exhibition "The poets of flamenco" by the painter Pedro Juan Rabal (15/12/2019)

More than a thousand people have already passed through the Auditorium of Eagles to see the exhibition "The poets of flamenco" by the painter Pedro Juan Rabal, since its inauguration last day 5.

Singers like Enrique Morente, Camarón, Argentina or El Cigala;

bailaores like Carmen Amaya, Sara Baras and Blanca del Rey;

and guitarists such as Paco de Lucía, Manolo Sanlúcar and Tomatito, are some of the kings and queens of flamenco that make up the exhibition, along with poets linked to this art such as Antonio Machado, Rafael Alberti, Federico García Lorca or the late poet Aguileño Pedro Vera, composing a set of forty paintings, mixed media on different formats such as canvas, wood or paper.

The opening ceremony, by the mayor of Águilas, the Councilor for Culture and the president of the flamenco club Melón de Oro, Lo Ferro, also had the participation of guitarist Antonio Fernández, "el Torero", who played several sticks flamingos with the collaboration of their children Manuel and Jesús Fernández;

while the catalog of the exhibition is due to Paco Paredes, flamencologist and poet of La Unión.

An example of the fusion between arts that characterizes Rabal's latest exhibitions.

Pedro Juan Rabal (Águilas, 1988) has a degree in Fine Arts from the Miguel Hernández University.

He has participated in more than twenty exhibitions, between individuals and groups, in cities such as Murcia, Caravaca, Lorca or Madrid;

In 2016 he was commissioned with the poster of the first Carnival of International Tourist Interest in Águilas, and he was also the creator of the Aguileña Holy Week poster (2013 and 2018).

He has taken an active part in the International Festival of Cante de las Minas and in the International Festival of Flamenco Cante de Lo Ferro in recent years.

Flamenco art is one of its most recognized themes;

In addition to this, among his favorite themes are the icons of art and current society, mythology, the sea and fishing, daily life and traditional festivals;

It has its own style that, although it is constantly evolving, turns its scenes into very recognizable works and appreciated by the spectators.

"The poets of flamenco" can be visited until January 4, from Tuesday to Sunday from 6 pm to 9 pm.

In parallel to this event, on Thursday, December 19, the exhibition "Ways to look" will open in the Cultural Field of El Corte Inglés (Gran Vía) in Murcia;

a collection of paintings that pose a new way of contemplating the classics, among which are Picasso, Van Gogh making an unusual appearance alongside Kirk Douglas or Frida Kahlo.
