The Sport Fishing Association "City of Urci" held last Saturday the awards ceremony of its "XXVI Social Championship".
In the act, almost a hundred members and family members gathered.
José María Paredes Robles, "Morito", won the precious "Golden Eagle" when he was proclaimed champion, while winning for the fifth consecutive year, the "highest number of pieces" award with 528 captures.
Fran Miras Asensio, young promise of sport fishing in our Region, was runner-up.
In addition, he was entertained by his cane and fishing teammates for getting the 5th prize in the 30th "Mar Costa" Championship of Spain, in youth category, held last month in Roquetas de Mar and where the Murcia Federation was proclaimed runner-up by teams .
The "major piece" Prize, a croaker that approached the kilogram of weight, was won by María Jesús Carrillo Gilabert, while Francisco Javier Navarrete took third place.
Likewise, during the gala dinner, there was also a recognition of the companies E. Más Empleo and Autocares Alcázar and Agroespuña, sponsors of the "City of Urci",
The El Rubial Bar, home of this sport fishing association, was also presented with a gift, as was the La Chimenea Restaurant, where this event was held for the second year.
The Deputy Mayor of the municipality of Águilas, Tomás Consentino, the Councilor for Finance, José Manuel Gálvez and the Lieutenant G. Civil in Águilas, Joaquín Guillamón, were responsible for delivering the awards, trophies and gifts, together with the president of the association, Cristóbal López, the members of its board of directors, Sebastian Lorca, Ginés Sánchez, José López, Pedro Castro and José Robles.
Also attending this sport fishing festival, Antonio Asensio and Juan Morales, presidents of the invited associations, "Villa de Águilas" and "Ciudad de Lorca", respectively.
