Águilas will host, from January 21 to February 6, the training workshop "Building diverse and positive masculinities", given by Lorenzo Hernández Pallares and Santiago Fernández Guillamón and organized by the Department of Equality and framed within the prevention actions scheduled from the Local Bureau against Gender Violence.

Attendees to this training, dynamic and participatory that is developed for the first time in the municipality of Aguila, may request the CPR certificate for professionals in the educational field, although monitors, members of associations and any professional related to the field may also attend the workshop .

"Until a few years ago, actions to eradicate violence and all inequalities focused on women victims, almost exclusively. Today, the need to reflect also on the socialization of masculinity, the limits and harms imposed on people is unquestionable. This allows us to analyze the impact of sexist mandates in the spheres of everyday life, such as health, emotional relationships, emotions, sexuality, the world of work or the inhibition of responsibilities around care. Gender in the study of men and masculinity allows us to know and make visible the aspects of the identity that sustains machismo and a large part of the injustices and inequalities that it produces.To achieve real and effective equality between women and men, we must incorporate men, including them in gender policies fosters their responsibility and their involvement in change.

Traditional male ad is at the base of many social conflicts, but the common enemy is not men but machismo, "said the mayor of the area, Elena Casado.

The Department of Equality, as a faithful advocate of work and family conciliation, will provide during the training attendance, in the same place, a playroom service for the sons and daughters of the assistants.

The training will begin on Tuesday, January 21 and will continue on February 28, 30, 4, 6, 11 and 13.
