The mayor of Fisheries and Economic Development, Bartolo Hernández and José Manuel Gálvez, and the Economic-Financial Management technician, Diego María Martínez, opened last week the Mariner Fisherman course that, for the first time in the last ten years, is offered for free in our location.
Aware of the importance of the fishing sector in the locality and taking into account the need to initiate actions to boost it, the City Council asked the Local Action Group for Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Region of Murcia (Galpemur) the aid that, included in the framework of the European Maritime and Fisheries Social Fund, are granted for this sector and have made possible the realization not only of this course but also that of Basic Training in Security, recently concluded;
what it has supposed - pointed out the mayor during the inauguration of the same - "an economic saving of the 1,000 euros that previously had to disburse all the people who wanted to dedicate themselves professionally to the fishing".
The Fisherman Sailor course, with a duration of thirty hours, is mandatory to be able to practice as a sailor, both on the machine and on the deck of a ship.
