The local association Amanecer 31, whose purpose is the investigation and dissemination of the historical heritage of Aguila, has expressed its adherence to the "Network of Memory and Prevention of Fascism. Never Again".
Promoted in 2014 by the Amical de Mauthausen y Otros Campos, the entity that brings together the Spanish deportees to the Nazi concentration camps and their families, aims to "preserve the historical memory of republican deportation" and "prevention and awareness against fascism. "
The Network Never Again promotes cultural awareness and dissemination through historical research and the recognition of deportees.
For its development, the participation of municipal institutions, cultural and civic entities of the locality and Secondary Education centers will be encouraged.
Currently they are already linked to the Network Never More than a hundred municipalities throughout the state, more than a hundred institutes and educational centers, and a quarantine of cultural associations.
The Network coordinates in the different territories with the Amical delegations in each community.
And with the Amical delegation in the Murcian community, which is already beginning its creation and journey.
Since last September, Dawn 31 is working on recovering the memory of the nine Columbians deported to the extermination camps of Mauthausen and Buchenwald.
"We have organized tributes to Ángel Sánchez Cañas, Andrés Pérez Díaz and Desiderio Aragoneses Cubo, three of the six aguileños who were killed by the Nazis," says Pedro Javier López, historian and coordinator of the association.
"Our intention is to recover from oblivion their testimony and raise awareness, especially for the new generations, of the dangers of fanaticism and intransigence."
