The Socialist mayor of Education, Francis Gallego, will raise the ordinary Plenary that tomorrow is held a motion to urge the Regional Government to immediately withdraw the instructions contained in the Resolution of August 29, 2019 where the requirement of parental consent is applied or mother for the assistance of students to complementary activities.
"The consolidation of the parental pin contravenes the Spanish Constitution in its article 27, which requires the integral education of the students; it contravenes the criterion of the Supreme Court that denies the possibility of objection of generalized conscience in the educational field; it contradicts the existence of contents and competences of multiple subjects in the different decrees of the curriculum, of obligatory fulfillment, that abound in the respect to the diversity; it contravenes the Law 8/2016 of May 27 of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia; and hinders the freedom of chair of the teaching staff that allows educational projects to be complemented with activities regulated and approved by the corresponding bodies, "said Gallego.
For the mayor "the parental pin responds only to the pressure of the most conservative sectors of our society, undermines the conformation of our constitutional system and makes its coexistence with other educational norms of greater legal status unfeasible. Regional Government complies with one of the most reactionary points of its investment agreement with VOX, yielding to the pressures of the latter. "
Likewise, it should be noted that the motion to be raised by the Plenary of the Socialist Municipal Group also implies the commitment of the City Council to make available to educational centers the services and means available to complement the comprehensive and civic training prescribed by the Constitution and educational laws, as well as to provide, through the municipal representative in the school councils, proposals to enrich the curriculum through the necessary activities that complement it.
