The mayor of guilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Environmental Education and Green Zones, Gins Desiderio Navarro and Bartolo Hernndez, participated this morning in the follow-up meeting of the Life Adaptate Program, co-financed by the European Fund, which has been developed in Aguilas.
Although the main action of the program is the creation of a large forest park that is already working and has been visited by the participants in the meeting this morning, this pilot action is complemented by the City Council's commitment to carry out the measures of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, specifically the preparation and design of an Action Plan for Climate and Sustainable Energy (PACES) that addresses both mitigation and climate adaptation before 2030.
The main objective of Life Adaptate is to contribute to the improvement of policies and legislation related to mitigation and adaptation to climate change in the European Union.
In particular, the process of design and implementation of local adaptation policies and the design of concrete actions in each municipality, taking into account the challenges that arise in each municipality.
