Águilas will have, starting next March 2, a consultation on sexual affective education for young people located in a classroom attached to the municipal library of the Francisco Rabal House of Culture;
becoming the second municipality of the Region to offer this service.
It is, as pointed out by the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Health, María Dolores García, of an action included in the Persea Program of the Murcia Health Service that aims to improve the level of affective-sexual health and reproductive of the population to which it is addressed.
Until now, within the Persea Program, a series of workshops taught by midwives and nurses trained specifically for it were developed in the local institutes;
an action that will now be completed with the opening of an open consultation in the afternoon and located outside the health center so that young people can go to it more freely, without having to request an appointment or submit a Social Security card.
The mayor of Health, which is also one of the midwives trained to develop this program, stressed that "from the City Council we have always been clear about the importance of having this consultation in which the Águilas Norte Health Center and the Health Center will collaborate. Salud Águilas Sur and for which the collaboration of the education professionals of the different institutes of the locality will be fundamental ".
The consultation will begin operating on March 2 at 5 pm and will do so, in the first months, in an experimental period in order to determine the demand and be able to adjust its periodicity.
