The mayor of Social and Health policy of the City of Águilas, Dolores García, has announced that the Department is studying the launch, during Holy Week, of the holiday school that was already established last Christmas due to the success and good reception of the same.
This resource to support working families with their dependents emanates from a grant from the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare in order to guarantee the basic right to food, leisure and culture of minors during school vacations and conciliation of family and work life.
During the Christmas period, a total of 50 children from the municipality of Águilas, 15 from kindergarten (period from 0 to 3 years) and 35 from children and primary school (from 3 to 12 years), have been beneficiaries of this service.
The project has included the attention of children from 0 to 12 years of age.
On the one hand, in the stage prior to early childhood education, that is, from 0 to 3 years old, families have been able to opt for any of the nurseries or play centers in the municipality where they could leave the children at 07:00 a.m. 18:00 hours, maximum.
In the case of children in primary and secondary school, Ramón y Cajal School was the place where leisure and leisure activities were carried out every day, with the dining room service included.
From the Department of Social Policy and Health of the City of Águilas state that these types of activities are necessary and represent an essential resource to facilitate the reconciliation of working families, who often do not have the necessary help to care for children during the holiday periods, which are usually greater than those of the parents.
