The Financial Economic Management technician of the City of Águilas, Diego María Martínez, municipal technical manager of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Development Strategy, Águilas Sostenible, co-financed by Feder Funds, participated on March 5 and 7 in the VII Congress Cities that Walk celebrated in Cádiz under the motto "The planet asks us to walk".
The City of Águilas has been part of the Network of Walking Cities since 2018;
an international association open to all those municipalities and administrations interested in improving the situation of pedestrians through the implementation and exchange of initiatives aimed at improving universal accessibility, road safety and the environment itself.
Among the concrete actions that include being "City that walks" are to increase integral mobility, design and manage spaces designed for people to walk, improve the integration of pedestrian networks, carry out land planning that improves movement to foot, increase the health of citizenship or improve the sense of security, among others.
