Following the recommendations of both the Ministry and the Ministry of Health, as well as the ban on meetings of more than 50 people announced yesterday by the Extraordinary Council of Government of the Region of Murcia, the City of Aguilas has announced the suspension / postponement of all municipal events during the next fifteen days as a prevention measure for contagion by coronavirus.
Given the alert situation, the decision has been made to suspend / postpone all the events planned in the Auditorium and the House of Culture;
the courses and workshops of the Municipal Women's Center, as well as the 8M commemorative activities.
Neither will the Educational Innovation Days or the Rovermur scout meeting whose realization was scheduled for next weekend be held.
Similarly, it has been decided to cancel all group visits to the different museums in the locality and it is advisable not to use the study rooms and, if they are used, to strictly follow the WHO health recommendations.
The City Council has also announced the cancellation of the weekly market.
As for the elderly, as these are among the population at risk, it has been determined that the Municipal Center for the Elderly remains closed, at least, for the next 15 days;
period during which the geronto-gymnastics workshops, swimming for the elderly and coral rehearsals have also been suspended.
Likewise, in the face of health developments due to the coronavirus throughout Spain, the Águilas City Council will immediately implement the information, cleaning and hygiene recommendations proposed by the public health authorities.
In this sense, daily hygiene and disinfection measures for vehicles and public transport waiting areas, as well as equipment and devices in playgrounds and biohealth will be extreme.
Measures that will add to those already in place consisting of the placement of soap dispensers in schools and public buildings or the limitation to a maximum of ten people in the waiting areas of public buildings to carry out any procedure.
Along the same lines, the Cabildo de Cofradías has unanimously decided to suspend all preparatory acts for Holy Week (Stations of the Cross, trials, transfers ...).
With regard to liturgical acts, it will be the Bishopric that determines if they are maintained or not.
Finally, from the City Council they want to remember that all these measures are PREVENTIVE in nature since to date no positive has been diagnosed in our town.
