The City Council of Águilas, in its effort to respond to the international health emergency caused by the COVID-19 virus, has carried out various initiatives with various business operators, in order to respond to the needs arising in preventive matters, and has carried out, among other actions, the acquisition of 10,000 surgical masks, of which 2,000 units are intended for municipal personnel;
500 units have been made available to different municipal services, interior cleaning and home help, taking into account that these vulnerable groups were unprotected due to the impossibility of acquiring them regularly in the market by their respective companies;
Likewise, of the masks whose purchase has been managed by the City Council, a total of 6,500 units have been acquired by local agricultural companies through municipal mediation, as well as the 1,000 units purchased by the surveillance company that operates in the City Council. .
The first consignment of sanitary material arrived on Friday, March 27, and the second on Saturday, March 28, having made available to these agricultural companies, almost all on March 31, 2020.
On the other hand, the City Council, within the protocol of action adopted in the matter of prevention against COVID-19, and already on Tuesday March 31, will be delivered to each of the public employees of the different centers of work considered essential, protective masks, gloves and temperature taking at the entrance, complementing the measures already in place since the beginning of the health crisis, such as the promotion of cleaning and disinfection services in all public buildings, placement of vending machines of hydroalcoholic gel in all plants and facilities, facilitate teleworking and shift programming to avoid overcrowding of workers in the same service and implementation of the measures applicable to especially sensitive workers and those over 60 years of age, among others.
