Under the premise that "the crisis derived from COVID-19 is having serious consequences in the economic and social field, in addition to health," the aquiline nucleus of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) is committed to strengthening social services in the location. In a statement released to the media, the aquilist communists show their support for the institutions and the municipal government, as they consider "these are moments to keep us united, since unity will be the secret of victory against the pandemic." In this sense, they regret "the attitude of an opposition that seeks to extract a political slice from the drama of our people." From the PCE they call for a great pact in which all the political, economic and social agents of the town participate.
"We all must contribute to overcome this situation, our people do not deserve less," they point out. As axes of this "great pact" to which they refer, the communist group bets on five essential points for its debate: "reorganization of the budget for social services to increase the amount allocated to aid for the most vulnerable families; implementation of a advisory service on the different existing social aids; activation of a municipal employment plan; defense of the health of workers, guaranteeing compliance with sanitary measures in the different work centers; and establishment of programs to boost small businesses and an aid plan for the self-employed and SMEs ". The PCE concludes its statement by thanking "the work being carried out by health personnel, the bodies and security forces of the State, the workers who continue to keep our economy active and the thousands of people who are scrupulously following the guidelines given by the central government" .
