The Copla Plan begins with fourteen beaches converted into cardioprotected spaces (06/07/2020)

The Copla presentation took place last weekend; a Surveillance and Rescue Plan in Beaches and Salvage in the Sea of ??the Region of Murcia that began in the municipality of Águilas on Saturday, June 6, only during the weekends on the beaches of Calabardina, Delicias I, Delicias II, La Colonia and Calarreona and to which since last July 1 all the necessary personnel and material resources were incorporated to cover the 14 guarded beaches of the aquiline coast (Calabardina, El Hornillo, Delicias I and Delicias II, Levante, La Colonia , Poniente I and Poniente II, Casica Verde, Matalentisco, La Cabaña, Calarreona, La Higuerica and La Carolina). The device, coordinated by the Municipal Service for Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Águilas City Council, with the collaboration of the Local Police, the Civil Guard and the Consortium for Fire Extinction and Salvage, was presented by the first mayor of Aguila, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the Councilor for Citizen Security, Tomás Consentino. This year the human and material resources that are available are: Human Resources Municipal Service for Civil Protection and Emergencies (SMPC and E): 1 Chief Coordinator. 2 Civil Protection Technicians. Municipal Association of Civil Protection Volunteers: 22 Volunteers. Material Resources SMPC and E: 2 Off-road vehicles. 1 Transport vehicle. 3 Motorcycles. SALVAD Human Resources: 3 Area managers (health, technical and logistics). 2 service coordinators. 50 lifeguards. 6 Boat patterns. 3 Operators of Room 112-CECOPAL. SALVAD Material Resources: - 4 rescue and rescue boats. - 4 Kayak. - 2 Rapid intervention vehicles. - 15 Semiautomatic External Defibrillators (DESA). All beach stalls are equipped with a treatment room, oxygen therapy, an intervention kit, a stretcher, a megaphone, binoculars, security equipment, rescue equipment and immobilization equipment.

This year, special attention is given to the occupational safety of professionals by the COVID-19, providing the rescue modules with individual protection gowns, goggles, FFP2 masks, hygienic masks and action protocols. Aquatic lifeguards and boat skippers are accredited by the Ministry of Health to use and manage DESA equipment (basic element in the resuscitation of a person in cardiorespiratory arrest).

Two of the aquatic lifeguards intervene from a fast-intervention off-road vehicle, given the warnings on unsupervised beaches in the municipal area and give support to comrades in guarded areas in rescue of multiple victims. Regarding the adapted bathroom, due to the need to establish specific protocols on the occasion of the COVID-19, it will be necessary to reserve in advance for its use, limited hours and strict disinfection before and after each use.
