The Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Mobility, José Manuel Gálvez, presented this morning the single platform project on the pedestrian streets of Conde de Aranda and Juan Pablo I; an action included in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, framed in the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy and Integrated Sustainable Eagles and co-financed by 80% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the multi-regional operational program of Spain 2014- 2020, which aims to make a city more friendly to pedestrians and cyclists, improving mobility in the urban area, as well as gradually implementing mobility that reduces greenhouse gas emissions. It is, Moreno pointed out, an execution with a single platform typology, that is, the street will be unified at the same level, eliminating the curbs that define the difference in elevation between pavements and proceeding to the paving of the entire area; A line of trees will also be created in order to create shades that invite you to stroll through the aforementioned streets, which will also be equipped with urban furniture for rest.
The Mayor has also indicated that security cameras will be installed in order to ensure that circulation occurs only by authorized vehicles.
