The city council of Águilas, represented by the councilor for Tourism and Environmental Education, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, has participated in the meeting, called by the general director of Agricultural Production, Livestock and Marine Environment, in which the Reserve project has been presented Marina of Fishing Interest of Cabo Cope, which would be the third in our Autonomous Community, after those of Cabo de Palos-Islas Hormigas and Cabo Tiñoso. In this video meeting also participated the Brotherhoods of Fishermen of Eagles and Mazarrón, the City of Lorca, staff of the Fishing Service of the Region of Murcia, representatives of the General Directorate of the Natural Environment, the Chair of Ecology University of Murcia, various entities ecologists and environmentalists, the Association of Diving Centers of the Region of Murcia, Diving centers of Eagles and the Fishing Federation of the Region of Murcia, among others. During the meeting, the study on environmental, fishing and recreational values ??within the limits proposed for the Reserve was presented.
The start of a sectoral participation process was also announced, which will take place during the second half of October this year and will consist of various meetings between public administrations, with the fishermen's guilds, representatives of recreational fishing and nautical activities, centers and diving clubs and environmental and environmental organizations and entities, which may participate in all sectoral meetings.
From these meetings, a proposal for the surface and zoning of the future Reserve will emerge.
